See below as rising Bucknell OT Julie’n Davenport answers some questions.
Scott Porter: What was your overall college experience like?
Julie’n Davenport: My college experience was pretty good. Came into school with the focus that I was going to be in the position that I am in right now and never stopped working towards it.
Scott Porter: Being a small school prospect with a lot of draft hype surrounding you. What has that been like for you?
Julie’n Davenport: I feel like it just helps show the rest of small school guys that your talent will get noticed and never to quit working. I had a lot of doubters who thought because of my school there was no way I’d have a chance at the NFL.
Scott Porter: What goals do you have for yourself at the NFL level?
Julie’n Davenport: First, I want to become a starter as soon as possible, and then I will keep working to be recognized as one of the best in the league.
Scott Porter: What was the Senior Bowl experience like for you?
Julie’n Davenport: I really enjoyed the senior bowl. I love competing, and getting to play amongst some of the best players coming up was a great opportunity.
Scott Porter: What type of person is an NFL team getting in Julien Davenport?
Julie’n Davenport: They are getting an outright hard worker and overachiever.
Scott Porter: What do you like most about playing the offensive line position?
Julie’n Davenport: I love the comradery you have as an offensive lineman and acting as a unit.
Scott Porter: What are you looking forward to the most about your opportunity in the NFL?
Julie’n Davenport: I’m just really looking forward to having the opportunity to play in the NFL. It has always been a dream of mine.
Scott Porter: What are the biggest challenge of playing the offensive line position?
Julie’n Davenport: The biggest challenge of playing offensive line is that there isn’t much glory in the positions. When things are all clicking, not very often is the offensive line in the spotlight, but when things are going wrong it is the offensive line that is usually blamed.
