Rob Batt: James, tell us about yourself?
James Ward: I am from New Haven, CT. I started playing football at age 6 and then youth football with the New Haven Steelers and Wilbur High School. I played college football for Assumption College.
Rob Batt: What was your favorite thing about attending Assumption?
James Ward: Football. Football helped me on and off the field. It helped shape me after going through coaching changes. I had 5 position coaches there but RB Coach Mike Vulcano really helped me by being honest while always being in my corner which helped me really develop my character on and off the field. This helped improve my studies. Even with being graduated, Coach Vulacno is helping and still being there with him his journey.
Rob Batt: What is your favorite play to run?
James Ward: Inside zone run was my favorite play in the playbook.
Rob Batt: What are your doing to prepare for the NFL Draft?
James Ward: I am training with Sean Smith at Exceed Sports Performance and Fitness in Northborough Massachusetts. I am hoping to attend the University of Massachusetts proday. I am still waiting to hear back to see if I have been accepted.
Rob Batt: What kind of player is a team getting in James Ward?
James Ward: They are going to get someone who loves the game of football and willing to help the team. I can catch the ball out of the backfield, I am willing to work hard and I am coachable. I want to be a leader and am always willing to learn.
Rob Batt: What did you major in at Assumption?
James Ward: I majored in business management with a minor in accounting and sports management.
